I have watched and enjoyed all the versions - before there was an official director's cut, there was an extended version that played on TV an was available (I think) on VHS.
These days I watch the original cut, mostly because that's the one I have on Blu-ray.
My only strong opinion about the different versions... whichever version you choose, make sure it starts with the overture music. Jerry Goldsmith's score is one of the best things in the movie, and that overture really sets the mood.
Yeah it breaks my heart that he’s such a dick these days. That said, still love several of his scripts (Stacey and I saw “Speed the Plow” in NYC with Elizabeth Moss and Bill Macy), and one day I’m gonna watch that Mamet Masterclass.
What, no Hide and Creep? Happy birthday!
Thanks, man! (And I will leave it to the commentators to hype the Crewless movies!)
Great picks!
So do you prefer ST:TMP original or director's cut?

Man, I need to rewatch Wag the Dog!
You do! On top of a great script, you get prime Willie!
He's become a bit of a twat lately, but Mamet is one of my biggest writing influences. (Same as roughly 40% of all writers, I assume.)
